Every Card Revealed For Magic: The Gathering’s The Lost Caverns Of Ixalan

Here we are, at the final Magic: The Gathering set of 2023, The Lost Caverns of Ixalan. We’re headed back to the Aztec-inspired world of Dinosaurs, Vampire Conquistadors, Pirate Goblins, and Merfolk Wizards, but a discovery deep below the surface has changed everything. Ixalan is hollow, and in its core a long-lost civilisation and resources every faction wants to get their hands on will spark a war.

The Lost Caverns Of Ixalan’s previews include not just the Standard-legal set and four Commander decks – but also the introduction of Special Guests, exclusive new reprints in The List – and a fitting crossover with the equally Dinosaur-y Jurassic World series. Here’s every card currently revealed.

Check back each day for the latest reveals!

Commander

Gishath, Sun’s Avatar by Zack Stella

To help better reflect the factions of Ixalan, which don’t have as big an emphasis on the regular set, The Lost Caverns of Ixalan has not two, but four different Commander decks. Each focuses on a different classic faction of the plane, giving you all the Dinosaur-y, Merfolk-y goodness you love about Ixalan.

Ahoy Mateys

The first deck is Ahoy Mateys, a red, blue, and black deck that revisits the pirates of the Brazen Coalition. It has a big emphasis on Treasure tokens, but you wouldn’t know that from its commander, Admiral Brass, Unsinkable. Instead, she can resurrect your fallen Pirates, bringing them back to the battlefield with the set’s new finality counters on them.

Looking at the top card of your library and taking it if it’s a land, or putting a +1/+1 counter on the exploring creature if it isn’t a land covers practically every base: ramp, card draw, and buffing creates. Expect tons of Merfolk synergy here, too.
